Job Summary
Support project management by coordinating steel fabrication and installation site activities, ensuring quality, safety, and timely delivery while assisting in technical documentation and cost monitoring.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and monitoring site work schedules to ensure supervisors and foremen meet client requirements, project timelines, and quality standards
- Prepare and manage Bills of Materials (BOM), method statements, inspection checklists, and regular project progress/status reports to maintain accurate project documentation
- Utilize AutoCAD or similar drafting software to prepare and review shop drawings, ensuring compliance with BCA codes, project specifications, and engineering standards (preferred)
- Support cost estimation for new project tenders and monitor budgets, material usage, and manpower allocation for ongoing projects to optimize resource management
- Supervise daily site activities including steel fabrication, welding, bolting, and alignment works while enforcing quality assurance procedures and site safety regulations to maintain high standards
Required competencies and certifications
- Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
- Relevant site work experience in Singapore
- Possess BCSS or other relevant safety training certifications
- Good understanding of steel works and fabrication processes
- Strong knowledge of steel structure installation methods and site coordination
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Familiarity with local codes, standards, and safety practices
