Project Engineer (Automation Systems / Manufacturing)
Location: Woodlands
We are seeking a proactive Project Engineer to support the execution and coordination of automation projects. This role focuses on managing project timelines, resources, and communication across engineering and production teams to ensure successful delivery of industrial automation systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Support end-to-end execution of automation and engineering projects, ensuring delivery within timeline, budget, and quality standards
- Monitor project progress, track milestones, and proactivelyidentify risks or issues with mitigation plans
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Design, Manufacturing, Assembly, Procurement) to ensure smooth project execution
- Act as the main point of contact between internal teams and customers, ensuring clear and timely communication
- Conduct regular project meetings and provide status updates to stakeholders and management
- Ensure project deliverables meet customer specifications, technical requirements, and quality standards
- Assist in resource planning and coordination across departments to optimise efficiency and performance
- Support documentation, reporting, and project tracking using appropriate tools and systems
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery processes
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, or related discipline)
- 1-2 years of relevant experience in project engineering, project coordination, or engineering support roles
- Experience in manufacturing, industrial automation, or machinery-related environments is preferred
- Basic understanding of automation systems, machinery, or engineering workflows
- Familiarity with project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, or similar)
- Exposure to design tools such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks is an advantage
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, or equivalent)
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Adaptable and able to re-prioritise in a fast-paced project environment
