Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Electrical Project Engineer / Project Manager to take ownership of electrical construction projects end-to-end from Tender preparation and proposal submission through to project execution, testing, handover and close-out.
This role is critical in managing larger-scale electrical projects, ensuring technical accuracy, safety compliance, cost control, and smooth coordination between customers, consultants, suppliers and our in-house installer teams.
Key Responsibilities
Tendering & Pre-Contract
- Lead and manage tender and proposal preparation for electrical projects
- Review tender drawings, specifications, and requirements to define scope of work
- Prepare technical proposals, method statements, and clarifications
- Perform cost estimation, material take-offs, manpower planning and subcontractor / supplier quotations
- Participate in tender meetings, technical clarifications, and negotiations with clients, consultants and main contractors
- Support management in tender strategy, pricing and risk assessment
Project Planning & Execution
- Take ownership of awarded projects and manage full project execution from contract award to completion
- Prepare detailed project execution plans, scope of work and project schedules covering:
- Document and material submissions
- Procurement lead times
- Installation, testing, and commissioning activities - Maintain and regularly update project schedules and prepare weekly and monthly progress reports
Site & Team Coordination
- Plan site manpower requirements together with the Superintendent / Site Supervisor
- Liaison with various stakeholders and Licensed Electrical Worker (7/8/9)
- Coordinate site activities including installation, testing, commissioning and inspections
- Lead and manage installer teams to ensure quality workmanship, productivity and adherence to safety requirements
- Plan for installation methods and coordinate with other contractors if required
- Conduct pre-punch list walk-throughs and manage clearance of defects with site teams
Procurement & Cost Control
- Prepare Purchase Requisitions and coordinate timely procurement of materials, equipment and subcontractor services
- Monitor project costs and ensure execution within approved budgets
- Maintain Change Order / Variation Order (VO) logs, prepare RFIs and VORs and obtain customer approval before executing scope changes
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Participate in regular client, consultant, and coordination meetings
- Proactively manage customer expectations through clear communication, agendas and meeting minutes
- Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, and third parties for successful project delivery
- Organise and coordinate Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) where required
Testing, Handover & Close-Out
- Coordinate inspections, testing, and commissioning with relevant authorities
- Prepare progress claims, follow up for certification and maintain progress claim summaries
- Prepare and collect all handover documents, as-built drawings, test reports and O&M manuals
- Conduct training for customers on installed systems and equipment (where applicable)
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) requirements
- Implement project-specific safety plans and organise necessary safety training for site teams
- Enforce safe work practices on site and address safety issues promptly
Requirements
Technical & Professional
- Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- Minimum 3 years of experience managing electrical or M&E construction projects
- Strong experience in:
- Electrical installation works
- Drawings coordination and technical submissions
- Site execution, testing, and commissioning - Experience handling multiple projects simultaneously

- Able to manage installers, subcontractors and suppliers effectively
- Confident communicator with the ability to interface professionally with clients, consultants and authorities
- Comfortable taking ownership, solving problems and escalating issues when needed
- Class 2B/3/3A driving license is an added advantage
