Project Engineer (Construction Trade - Fire Protection)
Responsibilities
- Prepare, schedule, coordinate, and monitor assigned fire protection construction projects to ensure timely progress and completion
- Monitor compliance with applicable codes of practice, performance standards, and contract specifications to maintain project quality and safety
- Engage daily with clients to interpret and clarify their needs and requirements for project alignment
- Perform overall quality control of work and provide regular project status reports to the Project Manager
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with the Project Manager and other project participants to provide technical assistance and support
- Prepare and submit construction drawings and materials catalogues for approval to meet project specifications
- Establish and maintain organized filing systems for project documents in both electronic and hard copy formats
- Coordinate timely delivery of equipment and materials to the project site to avoid delays
- Prepare, negotiate, submit, and track project Variation Orders in response to owner requests or field changes
- Ensure project filing systems comply with quality requirements and standards
- Support team members as needed to contribute to overall project and company success
- Work with the Project Manager to complete coordination drawings as required by contract documents and submit them promptly to prevent onsite conflicts or delays
- Collaborate with the Superintendent and Project Manager to ensure materials arrive onsite as scheduled
- Prepare project closeout documentation including Operation & Maintenance manuals, As-Built drawings, inspection reports, punch lists, and archiving of project files
- Prepare for and actively participate in company and project-related meetings
- Prepare and ensure all safety plans are met and approved to maintain a safe working environment
