SUMMARY
Our client is a leading provider of total mooring solutions in the offshore marine, oil & gas, and floating renewable energy sectors.
Their services span / covers the design, engineering, fabrication, supply, installation, and commissioning of mooring systems for floating offshore platforms leveraging expertise in geophysical studies, mooring strength and fatigue calculations, and offshore deployments.
Responsibilities
- Design and perform mooring system analysis and calculations (including strength and fatigue, hydrodynamic modeling, and installation feasibility) using tools like OrcaFlex, Ariane 3, Hydrostar, FEA (ANSYS, NX), and stability software such as MAXSURF.
- Plan and prepare mobilization/demobilization procedures for mooring and installation operations.
- Develop technical specifications and procurement documentation for mooring componentschains, synthetic ropes, anchors, chain stoppersand oversee vendor coordination.
- Provide engineering support during fabrication, installation, and offshore execution. This includes mobilizing vessel operations offshore, attending site meetings, and helping with QHSE assessments (HIRAs)
- Prepare and check technical drawings, reports, scope-of-work documents, Class society submission packages, and ensure compliance with IACS and industry standards (e.g., DNV, ABS)
- Coordinate internal teams (designers, analysts, fabrication yard) and external parties (clients, classification authorities, contractors), serving as a technical interface throughout project lifecycle
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Naval Architecture, Offshore Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or closely related field.
- At least 3 7 years in naval architecture, offshore mooring design, floating wind or oil & gas sector.
- Proficiency in mooring analysis and hydrodynamic software (e.g. OrcaFlex, Ariane3), structural FEA tools (ANSYS, NX), and experience with MAXSURF, Rhino3D, Python scripting is a plus
- Strong report writing, communication, clientinteraction, and mentorship of junior engineers; able to lead technical discussions with classification bodies and internal teams
