About the Role
We are supporting a major multinational manufacturer on various specialised fit-out projects, converting commercial spaces into a fully functioning laboratory facilities. As the project engineer, you will work closely with the capex project manager, coordinating multi-disciplinary works across both design and execution phases. This includes, but is not limited to, infrastructure upgrades, utilities installation, laboratory M&E systems, and ensuring full compliance with Singapore regulations for research environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Review electrical drawings and ensure seamless integration with lab systems and safety codes.
- Coordinate closely with architects, MEP consultants, lab planners, contractors, and client stakeholders.
- Ensure alignment with Singapore regulations including BCA, SCDF, and EMA requirements.
- Support procurement, installation and quality oversight of specialist laboratory equipment.
- Assist with commissioning, qualification and testing of lab systems
- Maintain accurate project documentation and technical reporting throughout all phases.
Experience & Skills (Must-Haves)
- Degree in Engineering.
- 58 years experience in electrical engineering, commissioning or qualification, with strong exposure to design and construction activities.
- Strong interdisciplinary coordination within complex, confined project spaces.
- Solid knowledge of Singapore building codes, SCDF fire safety standards, and EMA electrical licensing requirements.
- Excellent contractor/vendor management and problem-solving skills.
- Clear, confident English communication.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience in flavours, fragrance, F&B ingredients, pharma or life sciences manufacturing.
- Proven experience delivering laboratory, cleanroom, or R&D facility fit-outs, or converting commercial/office spaces into specialised technical environments.
- Familiarity with cleanroom classifications (ISO 14644, GMP) and lab ventilation standards.
- Singapore PE certification.
