Position: Project Engineer
Location: Singapore
Key Responsibilities
- Support design review, installation, testing, and commissioning of EHV substations and transmission systems
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and equipment suppliers across project phases
- Ensure compliance with IEC/IEEE standards and client specifications (GIS, CTs, VTs, transformers, protection systems)
- Assist the Project Manager in managing schedules, budgets, and material approvals (PQR/MQR)
- Supervise site activities including cable terminations, SF₆ handling, HV testing (AC resonance, partial discharge, insulation testing), and system energization
- Prepare and verify technical documentation (installation procedures, checklists, test reports, as-built drawings)
- Enforce safety, QA/QC, and risk management practices during project execution
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- 2–5 years of experience in HV/EHV substation or transmission projects
- Practical experience in installation, testing, and commissioning works
- Fundamental understanding of power systems (transmission & distribution networks)
- Exposure to high-voltage testing methods (AC resonance, partial discharge, insulation testing) and SF₆ handling is advantageous
- Able to work in site-based environments when required
- Proficiency in English and Chinese (spoken & written)
- Specialist Diploma in Construction Productivity (SDCP) - nice to have
