Project Engagement Manager specialising in the Port, Terminal and Logistics sector (6-months role)

This is a fixed-term role of 6-months only. Due to the short-term nature of the role, the suitable candidate is expected to hit the ground running on a time-sensitive client project from day one.

In this role you will have the opportunity to work on teams and help a Port, Terminal and Logistics organization solve some of their most difficult problems.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

You will be leading a team of 3 - 5 consultants to help clients achieve new performance highs. You will lead the day-to-day execution of a client project while guiding and developing individual team members. You'll work directly with our client - usually on site - and you'll take ownership of the overall project and its end products. You will make an important contribution to the analysis, design, and implementation of business performance approaches, developing tailor-made solutions and working closely with clients to ensure positive impact and sustainable results.

In a collaborative team setting, you'll work closely with others but also autonomously with little direction. Your superior analytical, quantitative and conceptual thinking skills and strong interpersonal and communication skills will ensure successful client projects and team performance.

Client project work typically includes gathering and analyzing information, formulating and testing hypotheses, and developing recommendations for presentation to client management. From there, you will implement those recommendations with client team members.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree from a top-tier university with consistent outstanding academic record Advanced degree or MBA is preferred
• 6+ years of business management and/or business consulting experience in a reputed company, including 3+ years of experience in strategy consulting in a management consulting firm specific to the Port, Terminal and Logistics sector. As this is a short-term role involving work on urgent projects, experience working in a top-tier management consulting firm is highly advantageous.
• Due to regional work with clients from other Asian countries, prior experience working in Asia is also preferred.
• Solid functional knowledge, including but not limited to strategy, product development, project management, marketing and sales, etc. Knowledge of/familiarity with top-tier consulting firm methodologies
• Additionally, solid functional knowledge on business growth strategy, M&A and business transformation applicable to the Port, Terminal and Logistics sector is required for this specific client engagement.
• Demonstrated leadership ability in a team environment, with a minimum experience of 1-2 years of leading a team
• Proficiency in these technologies for internal and external communications: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Slack, Box and Sharepoint
• Proven record of high performance and substantial achievements in your past positions
• Outstanding records of academic and managerial or professional achievement
• Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
• Initiative taker, eager to break new ground, create opportunities for others
