Project Buyer

Key Responsibilities

General

• Drive continuous improvement of supply chain quality in collaboration with cross-functional teams such as Product Group, R&D, Material Management, and Finance.

• Review and validate supplier invoices, especially in cases of price discrepancies against purchase orders.

• Ensure accurate setup and maintenance of all SCM parameters (vendor data, contracts, warehouse details, IQC), taking corrective actions when required.

• Monitor supplier performance and conduct regular evaluations, including data analysis and reporting.

• Coordinate with suppliers to resolve escalated issues (e.g., delivery delays) and implement corrective actions or identify alternative suppliers if needed.

• Issue purchase orders (POs) and call-offs based on quotations.

• Handle intercompany purchase orders (ICPO).

CIP & CSR Projects (Fast-Track)

• Plan and procure materials for CIP and CSR projects based on ERP (SAP) demand.

• Work closely with production planning teams to ensure alignment.

• Request and quickly evaluate supplier quotations.

Accountabilities

• Manage daily purchasing operations effectively.

• Ensure timely availability of all required materials and services.

• Optimize material flow and maintain efficient inventory levels.

• Implement and manage supplier agreements (e.g., NDA, GPC).

• Achieve cost reduction targets while ensuring short lead times.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (preferred).

• Minimum 5 years of experience in global sourcing, preferably within Asian markets.

• Experience in supplier qualification, audits, and corrective action processes.

• Proficiency in SAP/R3 and ERP systems.

• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.

• Ability to build and maintain strong supplier relationships while improving processes.

• Good understanding of supply chain operations and manufacturing/assembly processes.

• Competent in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
