Job Description

The Programme Officer will report to the Head, Caregivers Support Services, which is under the umbrella of Community-Based Support Services (CSS). CSS is the dynamic and nimble service delivery arm in MINDS that response to emerging needs of PWIDs and Caregivers in the community.

He/she will contribute actively to Assisted Deputyship Application Programme (ADAP) and ensure the efficient running of ADAP programme. He/she will be involved in the planning, coordinating, and executing of programme events and activities and provide administrative support to ADAP applicants and General Deputyship applicants applying for standard powers applicants.

A proactive thinker, resourceful and responsible team player, he/she works closely with colleagues and stakeholders to raise awareness of the importance of deputyship and future care planning and ensure smooth delivery of programme activities.

Programme & Workshop Coordination

  • Work with SPED schools, Day Activity Centres and Sheltered Workshops and relevant partners to organise and conduct briefings to caregivers on ADAP and other legal matters pertaining to future care planning.
  • Publicise workshops and develop publicity materials for distribution to caregivers via schools, Day Activity Centres, and Sheltered Workshops.
  • Work with team to ensure smooth running of workshops.
  • Consolidate and maintain records on workshop attendance.
  • Identify areas of improvements in programme and event management.

Build Stakeholder Relationship

  • Manage communications and feedback from stakeholders.
  • Participate in initiatives to establish cordial working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Maintain regular feedback and communication with stakeholder to update on progress and development when necessary.

Information and referral and guidance

  • Attend to queries from caregivers and stakeholders.
  • Provide triaging / timely follow up to caregivers and stakeholders after needs and eligibility assessment.
  • Provide guidance to caregivers who require assistance in submitting their deputyship application on Family Justice Courts online iFAMS system.

Programme and Event Coordinationon future care planning

  • Engage in long term care planning conversations with caregivers.
  • Assist in promoting future care planning and FutureReady toolkit via social media.
  • Assist in planning and organising outreach activities workshops /support groups on future care planning to client group(s), other social service professionals, organisations and community.

Record keeping

  • Maintain proper records of all clients for internal case reporting and management.
  • Assist in collating client information for submission to SGE and MSF punctually at quarterly intervals, using the template provided by SGE.
  • Assist in collation of relevant information for submission to MSF or SG Enable (SGE) for ad-hoc audit and evaluation.
  • Ensure that clients information is kept confidential, in line with the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA).

Qualification & Skills

  • Diploma holder from recognised tertiary institutions, with 1 - 2 of working experience.

  • Analytical and Critical Thinking skills.
  • Well organised and detail-oriented.
  • Have strong interest and positive attitude towards understanding PWIDs and caregivers needs.
  • Familiarity to disability sector will be an advantage.
  • Proficient in MS Office and dashboard applications will be an advantage.
  • Proficient in conversing in local languages.
