[What you will be working on]

We are seeking an experienced Programme Manager to support the Government Technology Office (GTO) Consulting team in enabling agencies complex modernisation efforts. This role seeks a versatile professional to strategically bridge technical innovation, robust business operations, and complex government domains, driving operational excellence and shaping the future of digital governance.

Programme Management for GTO Consulting Team

  • Lead and oversee the efficient and effective programme management of the consulting programmes we execute with agencies.

  • Establish and monitor performance metrics, resource allocation, and programme roadmaps to optimise team output and impact.

  • Develop and implement best practices for consulting engagement lifecycles, from intake to delivery and post-engagement review leveraging established Programme Management methodologies, e.g. PMI.

  • Foster a collaborative environment within each programme, promoting knowledge sharing and continuous improvement, applying agile principles and continuous feedback loops.

Operational Management

  • Spearhead operational efficiency by identifying opportunities for process optimisation and implementing cutting-edge best practices across all functions.

  • Manage stakeholder relationships across various government agencies and external partners, ensuring effective communications and programme alignment with strategic objectives.

Technical & Business Integration

  • Actively facilitate seamless communication channels between technical teams and business units, ensuring cohesive alignment of technology initiatives with critical operational needs and strategic goals. This includes managing interdependencies across projects and initiatives.

  • Translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and business requirements for technical teams.

  • Contribute to the development of sustainable product strategies that balance innovation with operational feasibility, focusing on value realisation and benefit management.

[What we are looking for]

Experience & Skills:

  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in technology, business operations, or the public sector.

  • Strong track record in strategic programme planning and operational management.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships while mitigating risks and issues.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven experience in crafting compelling presentations and papers.

  • Profound understanding of emerging technology trends and their strategic implications for enhancing and transforming public sector services and digital governance.
