[What the role is]
This is a 2-year contract position as a Programme Lead/ Senior Lecturer, Business Practice in the School of Humanities & Interdisciplinary studies.
We are seeking a professional with strong international business experience and teaching expertise to join our teaching and practice-oriented team. This role integrates industry practice with higher education, involving course delivery, practical supervision, and the sharing of cross-regional business experience. It is well suited to candidates with extensive exposure to Asian markets and a strong commitment to talent development and knowledge transfer. Candidates should be effectively bilingual in Chinese and English and be able to teach both Pre-Employment Training (PET) and Continuing Education and Training (CET) learners.
[What you will be working on]
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Deliver courses related to business, management, and organizational development
- Share and supervise practical business experience related to Southeast Asia, China, and other regional markets
- Guide students in business case analysis, entrepreneurial projects, and market strategy planning
- Facilitate business communication, negotiation skills, and cross-cultural understanding in the classroom
- Able to teach at least one evening or weekends in the week
- Contribute to module development and the supervision of academic and industry projects
- Lead the conceptualisation and roll-out of Chinese-medium CET programmes designed for working adults
- Conduct landscape scans and consult with stakeholders to ensure programme relevance
- Source for industry partnerships and engage in business development efforts to grow course up-take
- Support curriculum innovation efforts
- Manage administrative work related to teaching and assigned projects
[What we are looking for]
- Tertiary qualifications in business, management, or a related discipline
- Extensive experience of 8 to 10 years in Southeast Asia, China, and/or other regional markets
- Demonstrated strengths in business negotiation, business communication, entrepreneurship, and marketing
- Ability to systematically translate industry experience into effective teaching and learning content
- Prior experience teaching human resource management and related courses will be an advantage
