Job Description

We're Hiring: Programme Coordinator | The Alita Initiative

Are you passionate about community building, adaptive sports, and making a meaningful impact in the lives of People with Physical Disabilities (PWPDs) and volunteerism

We are looking for a dedicated and proactive Programme Coordinator to help nurture this culture of mutual support and lead our inclusive dragon boat team.

About the Role

As our Programme Coordinator, you will be at the heart of our operations, bridging the gap between our members, coaches, and allies. You play a central role in overseeing our weekly training sessions, growing our community, and ensuring our operations run smoothly.

What you will do

As our Programme Coordinator, you will manage three core pillars centered around community and allyship:

  • Drive the Programme - Oversee our weekly dragon boat training sessions (2:30 PM – 5:00 PM, typically on Saturdays) and foster a uplifting, collaborative environment aligning members, volunteer allies, and coaches.

  • Paradragon & Member Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for our community of Paradragons and volunteer Allies, with a heart to support PWPDs (including stroke survivors, amputees, and Parkinson's patients). You will manage onboarding, group chat engagement, weekly attendance tracking, and drive our growth target to welcome and retain new members.

  • Manage our Allies (volunteers and Coaches): Recruit and onboard passionate allies from the wider community, coordinate volunteer registration and indemnity documentation, and assist in organising quarterly training workshops for our support network.

Working Hours & Commitment

  • Weekday Schedule: 8 working hours per day, Monday through Friday (flexible hours; exact daily schedule to be aligned with your supervisor).
  • Weekend Commitment: Mandatory presence for weekly training sessions every Saturday / Sunday (2:00 pm – 5:00 pm), counted as a half-day of weekend work.
  • Rest Periods: Scheduled breaks will be provided on Public Holidays and during off-peak seasons.

Key Qualifications:

Strong passion for inclusive sports, community building, and working with PWPDs and volunteers. Strong organisational and communication skills, a community-first mindset, volunteer mobilisation, on-ground problem-solving, and basic admin/financial tracking skills.

Keen to Make a Difference

If you thrive on bringing people together and want to build an inclusive sporting community, we would love to hear from you!
