Professional Engineer (Structure)

Key responsibilities include:

• Act as Qualified Person (QP) for Structural Works where required and prepare, endorse, and submit structural design documents to the Building and Construction Authority (BCA).

• Review and certify structural design calculations, drawings, and technical submissions prepared by the design team.

• Lead structural design reviews and provide professional endorsement for structural systems in accordance with Singapore codes, regulations, and project requirements.

• Provide construction engineering services, including reviewing temporary works, erection methodologies, and construction sequences.

• Undertake or review construction stage analysis and structural assessments to ensure structural integrity during all phases of construction.

• Provide professional advice on the design and execution of long-span roof structures, including erection strategies and structural stability during construction.

• Review and certify the design of large-scale precast structural systems and associated connections.

• Review and approve the analysis and design of complex steelwork connections.

• Provide engineering oversight for the design of secondary structures as defined in the project specifications.

• Coordinate closely with the Contractor, design consultants, and the Superintending Officer (S.O.) to ensure compliance with all technical and regulatory requirements.

• Participate in technical meetings, design reviews, and authority coordination when required.

Job Requirements

• Must be a registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Structural Engineering with the Professional Engineers Board (PEB).

• Preferably minimum 20 years of experience in the delivery of complex engineering projects.

• Minimum 10 years of experience delivering projects as a registered Professional Engineer in Singapore.

• Must be part of a recognised design organisation with a proven track record in structural engineering for large-scale developments.

• Demonstrated experience in:

  • Undertaking the Qualified Person (QP) role and preparing submissions to the Building and Construction Authority.

  • Providing construction engineering services for major projects.

• Significant experience in:

  • Long-span roof structures, including erection strategy assessment and construction stage analysis.

  • Large-scale precast construction systems.

  • Analysis and design of complex structural steel connections.

  • Design of secondary structural systems as defined in project specifications.

• Strong knowledge of Singapore structural design codes, regulatory submission processes, and construction practices.

• Proven experience in managing complex structural engineering challenges in large infrastructure, airport, or major building projects.
