Job Overview

My client is seeking a highly qualified Professional Engineer (PE) to oversee the civil and structural components of landed residential projects. The successful candidate must be registered with the Professional Engineers Board (PEB) and eligible to act as the Qualified Person (QP) for structural works. This role involves taking full responsibility for structural design integrity, regulatory submissions, and ensuring compliance with all applicable local regulations. Salary is depending on relevancy and market rate.

Key Responsibilities

Structural Design & Analysis

  • Lead the design and structural analysis of civil and structural systems for landed residential developments.

  • Ensure designs meet safety, durability, serviceability, and cost-efficiency standards.

Regulatory Compliance (QP Role)

  • Serve as the Qualified Person (PE) for structural works.

  • Prepare, endorse, and submit structural calculations, drawings, and related documentation to BCA for approval.

Site Supervision & Inspection

  • Conduct regular site inspections to verify that works are carried out in accordance with approved plans, geotechnical reports, and statutory safety requirements.

Coordination & Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with the Architect (QP), contractors, and M&E consultants to address technical issues, resolve design conflicts, and optimize engineering solutions.

Risk Management

  • Identify structural and geotechnical risks early and implement effective mitigation strategies to prevent project delays or safety concerns.

Certification & Documentation

  • Issue the necessary certifications (e.g., TOP/CSC) and endorse as-built drawings upon project completion.

Technical Problem-Solving

  • Provide practical engineering solutions on-site for unforeseen conditions, including soil-related challenges, underpinning works, and retaining wall construction.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.

Professional Registration

  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) with the Professional Engineers Board (PEB).

Experience

  • 8-12 years of relevant experience, with a strong focus on landed residential projects.

  • Experience in Addition & Alteration (A&A) works is highly preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in structural analysis software such as ETABS, Prokon, or equivalent.

  • Strong understanding of geotechnical considerations specific to landed residential developments.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
