Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise a team of 10-25 production operators to safely and efficiently meet daily production targets.
  • Execute daily production plans across prep, cooking, assembly, packaging, and chilling operations.
  • Manage task assignments, rotations, line pacing, and break schedules to maintain consistent workflow.
  • Act as a hands-on leader, stepping into production during peak demand, staffing gaps, or training.
  • Enforce food safety, GMP, PPE, and quality standards, including monitoring and documenting CCPs.
  • Conduct regular quality and safety inspections and take immediate corrective action when issues arise.
  • Maintain accurate production, quality, waste, and equipment records in compliance with standards.
  • Train, coach, and cross-train team members to build capability, flexibility, and accountability.
  • Drive operational efficiency by reducing waste, managing materials, troubleshooting minor issues, and supporting continuous improvement.
  • Ensure effective sanitation, allergen control, and 5S housekeeping throughout the shift.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in food manufacturing, preferably in fresh-chilled, cook-chill, or ready-to-eat environments.
  • Proven experience in a supervisory or team lead capacity.
  • Strong understanding of GMPs, HACCP, CCPs, and food safety protocols.
  • Knowledge of the temperature danger zone and chilled food safety principles.
  • Ability to operate and perform basic troubleshooting of production equipment (conveyors, sealers, chillers, metal detectors, etc.).
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time-management abilities.
  • Willingly to work in a refrigerated environment (approx. 4°C) for extended periods.
  • Formal training in food safety (HACCP, FSSC 22000, BRC, SQF) is advantageous.
  • Experience with allergen management and sanitation verification.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, 5S).
