Job Description

The Food Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily production operations, ensuring food safety compliance, maintaining product quality, and managing production staff to meet operational targets.

1. Production Operations

  • Supervise daily food production activities (processing, preparation, packing).
  • Ensure production schedules are met efficiently and on time.
  • Monitor manpower allocation and workflow to optimize productivity.
  • Ensure proper handling of raw materials and finished goods.

2. Food Safety & Quality Control

  • Ensure compliance with Singapore Food Agency (SFA) regulations.
  • Implement and monitor HACCP, PRPs, and OPRPs.
  • Ensure all Critical Control Points (CCPs) and operational controls are followed (e.g. temperature control, thawing, storage).
  • Conduct routine checks on product quality, hygiene, and sanitation.
  • Handle non-conformance, corrective actions, and internal audits.

3. Staff Management

  • Supervise and lead production workers, packers, and drivers if required.
  • Conduct training on food safety, hygiene, and SOPs.
  • Enforce discipline, hygiene practices, and proper PPE usage.
  • Monitor staff performance and attendance.

4. Inventory & Material Control

  • Monitor stock levels of raw materials and packaging.
  • Ensure proper FIFO/FEFO practices are followed.
  • Coordinate with procurement and warehouse for stock replenishment.
  • Minimize wastage and control yield loss.

5. Equipment & Maintenance

  • Ensure proper use of machinery (cutting machines, slicers, chillers, freezers).
  • Report equipment faults and coordinate maintenance.
  • Ensure calibration of equipment (e.g. weighing scales, thermometers).

6. Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain production records, temperature logs, and cleaning records.
  • Ensure traceability of products and batches.
  • Prepare documents for audits (SFA, customer audits, ISO22000).
  • Assist in implementation of ISO 22000 systems.

7. Workplace Safety

  • Ensure compliance with workplace safety practices.
  • Identify hazards and enforce safe working procedures.
  • Ensure proper handling of equipment and materials.

Job Requirements

Education & Experience

  • At least 2-5 years of experience in food manufacturing or processing.
  • Prior supervisory experience is an advantage.

Technical Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of:Food safety standards (HACCP, ISO 22000)Temperature control (chilled, frozen, thawing processes)Hygiene and sanitation practices
  • Familiar with Singapore regulatory requirements (SFA).

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Good problem-solving and decision-making ability.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Good communication skills

Other Requirements

  • Willing to work in cold room / production environment.
  • Able to work shifts, weekends, or public holidays if required.
  • Physically fit and able to handle operational tasks when needed.
