Job Description

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Operations

  • Supervise and coordinate daily production activities to meet output targets and deadlines
  • Monitor production processes to ensure efficiency, minimal downtime, and optimal resource utilisation
  • Ensure proper setup and operation of machinery and equipment
  • Troubleshoot operational issues and escalate when necessary

2. Quality & Food Safety Compliance

  • Ensure strict adherence to food safety standards such as HACCP, GMP, and local regulatory requirements
  • Conduct routine checks to maintain product quality and consistency
  • Ensure all production processes comply with hygiene and sanitation standards
  • Support audits and inspections (internal and external)

3. Team Supervision & Training

  • Lead, supervise, and motivate production staff and line workers
  • Conduct onboarding and on-the-job training for new employees
  • Monitor staff performance and enforce discipline where required
  • Ensure proper manpower allocation across production lines

4. Inventory & Materials Management

  • Coordinate with procurement and warehouse teams to ensure adequate raw materials and packaging supplies
  • Monitor stock usage to minimise wastage
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of ingredients in line with food safety standards

5. Health & Safety

  • Enforce workplace safety policies and procedures
  • Conduct regular safety checks and ensure proper use of PPE
  • Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions

6. Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce waste, and optimise workflows
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives (lean manufacturing practices where applicable)
  • Track and report key production metrics (e.g., yield, downtime, wastage)

7. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate production records, batch records, and quality logs
  • Prepare daily/weekly production reports for management
  • Ensure compliance documentation is complete and up to date

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Engineering, or related field
  • 2-5 years of experience in food manufacturing or production environment
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, shift-based environment
