About the Role
Chipstone Electronics is ramping up a module-packaging operation in Singapore and preparing for shift-based production.
You will lead the daily production shift, deploy operators, control production flow and ensure that output, quality, safety and material requirements are met. This is a hands-on floor-leadership role for someone who can guide operators, respond to production issues and build discipline in a new and growing operation.
Our manufacturing environment is most relevant to candidates from smart-card or secure-module production, semiconductor back-end assembly and testing, OSAT or comparable electronics assembly operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and manage daily production activities according to the production schedule and shift priorities.
- Assign operators to workstations based on production needs, competency and equipment availability.
- Conduct shift briefings covering production targets, quality concerns, safety issues and work priorities.
- Monitor hourly output, work-in-progress, yield, rejection, rework and equipment downtime.
- Identify production delays or abnormal conditions and coordinate with Process, Quality and Equipment teams for timely resolution.
- Ensure operators follow approved work instructions, process parameters and inspection standards.
- Ensure in-process and finished-product inspections are completed according to approved requirements.
- Coordinate with Quality on product release, rejection, quarantine and non-conforming output.
- Control the issuance, usage, return and reconciliation of raw and auxiliary materials on the production floor.
- Maintain material, batch and lot traceability throughout the production process.
- Ensure proper line clearance, changeover and product segregation to prevent material or product mix-ups.
- Enforce cleanroom, ESD, contamination-control, workplace safety and housekeeping requirements.
- Ensure equipment checks and basic operator maintenance are completed before and during production.
- Escalate equipment, process, quality, material or manpower issues that may affect output or delivery.
- Complete accurate shift reports covering output, yield, downtime, quality issues, material usage and outstanding actions.
- Conduct clear shift handovers so unresolved issues are properly communicated and followed through.
- Train, coach and assess operators on work instructions, quality requirements and safe working practices.
- Support operator onboarding and help build a stable, disciplined production team as the plant expands.
- Participate in trial production, process improvements and production-ramp activities.
Requirements
- NITEC, Higher NITEC or Diploma in Manufacturing, Electronics, Engineering, Operations or a related field.
- At least 3 years of production experience, including experience as a Team Leader, Line Leader or Shift Supervisor.
- Experience managing shift manpower, production output, quality and shop-floor discipline.
- Familiar with cleanroom operations, ESD control, material traceability and controlled manufacturing processes.
- Able to interpret production schedules, work instructions and basic production data.
- Able to respond calmly to equipment, manpower, material and quality issues during the shift.
- Comfortable leading a lean team and working directly on the production floor.
- Willing and able to work rotating shifts as the plant moves towards full shift operations.
Experience with module-packaging processes such as die attach, wire bonding, encapsulation, visual inspection or electrical testing would be advantageous.
