Job Description

The Laboratory Technician conducts laboratory tests and analyses following established procedures and safety protocols. Supporting quality control and production, this role will be working 12 hours day and night shifts, involves in sample analysis, data collection, equipment maintenance, and ensuring reliable results at the EVAL Manufacturing site, starting in late 2026. The technician will be trained in future production roles to support safe, efficient operations. Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the technician will receive training from Kuraray members and assist with laboratory equipment commissioning, ensuring a smooth launch of the new EVAL Quality Control Laboratory.

Responsibilities:

. Conducting laboratory tests and analyzing in-process samples using specified instruments and equipment.

. Preparation of chemical reagents.

. Timely communication of analysis results to the Production Supervisor and Day QC team in the event of any abnormalities, ensuring swift remedial action if required

. Conducting incoming inspection of chemicals (Methanol, NaOH, Azobis 2 4-dimehyl valeronitrile catalyst, VAM Acetic Acid) and advises Supervisor of material acceptance.

. Conduct equipment daily validation (eg Analytical balance standard weight check, ph meter calibration and buffer check, KF standardization) and run with control sample for equipment performance check. Operate and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment.

. Carry out basic instrumentation and equipment functions and conduct maintenance, gas cylinder changeout and troubleshooting,where necessary.

. Highlight Maintenance request notifications need to Supervision and QC members.

. Assist in commissioning and de-commissioning of laboratory equipment.

. Assist in preparing lab equipment for maintenance and ensure equipment energy sources are isolated.

. Participate in emergency response drills.

. Maintain clean, organized, and safe laboratory conditions as per 5S standard.

. Understand and comply with departmental Safety and Environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures.

. Contribute to the improvement of the Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Programs.

. Carry out any other tasks as assigned by Supervisor or QC personnel.

Qualifications:

  • NITEC or Diploma in Chemical Process Technology.
  • At least 5 years working experience as Laboratory or Chemical Technician in chemical industry.
