Job Summary
The Production Planner & Materials Planner will manage production schedules, material forecasting, and inventory control to ensure smooth manufacturing operations and timely delivery of customer orders.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain production schedules based on customer orders, sales forecasts, inventory levels, and production capacity to meet delivery targets
- Coordinate cross-functionally with Production, Sales, Procurement, Warehouse, and Quality teams to ensure seamless workflow and timely order fulfillment
- Monitor production progress and adjust schedules proactively to address demand changes, material availability, or operational constraints
- Analyze production performance data to identify and implement productivity and resource utilization improvements
- Prepare detailed production reports and maintain accurate planning documentation
- Forecast raw material, packaging, and consumable requirements to support uninterrupted production activities
- Monitor inventory levels and initiate replenishment plans to prevent stock shortages and excess inventory
- Collaborate with Procurement and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials aligned with production needs
- Analyze inventory trends and recommend optimal stock levels to balance cost and availability
- Support stock take activities and initiatives to improve inventory accuracy
- Liaise with internal departments to resolve material shortages, production bottlenecks, and delivery issues promptly
- Maintain accurate planning and inventory records using ERP/MRP systems to support operational transparency
- Participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance planning effectiveness and operational efficiency
- Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and workplace safety requirements
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related disciplines
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in Production Planning, Materials Planning, Supply Chain, Inventory Control, or Manufacturing Operations
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and coordination abilities
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
