Job Summary
The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations with a strong focus on rubber compression molding processes. This role ensures production efficiency, product quality, cost control, and continuous improvement while leveraging deep technical expertise in rubber materials and compression technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage end-to-end production operations for rubber compression molding.
- Optimize compression molding parameters (temperature, pressure, curing time) to achieve consistent product quality.
- Troubleshoot process and product issues related to rubber formulation, curing defects, and mold performance.
- Work closely with engineering and R&D teams on new product introduction (NPI) and process development.
- Ensure production targets (output, yield, scrap rate) are met or exceeded.
- Implement and drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, OEE improvement).
- Oversee manpower planning, training, and performance management of production teams.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Collaborate with maintenance team to ensure high machine uptime and preventive maintenance effectiveness.
- Monitor and control production costs, including material usage and labor efficiency.
- Liaise with customers and internal stakeholders on technical and production-related matters.
Technical Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience in rubber compression molding processes.
- In-depth knowledge of rubber materials (NR, EPDM, NBR, Silicone, etc.) and curing characteristics.
- Familiarity with mold design, tooling, and defect analysis (e.g., short shots, flash, porosity, under/over cure).
- Experience in setting and optimizing molding parameters.
- Knowledge of quality tools (FMEA, SPC, Root Cause Analysis, 8D).
- Understanding of ISO/IATF quality systems is an advantage.
