About the Role
- As part of the technical services team, the Chemist (Intern) is responsible for managing and control of the lab polymerization facilities. They need to synthesize polymer materials and support the production processes such as scale up, trouble shooting and improvement.
What We're Looking For
- Study and review the current process gap, recommend to section manager to obtain approval and lead the change and implementation of new processes
- Participate in kaizen (continuous improvement) and cost reduction projects
- Work with stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of new or changed processes
- Pro-active identification of problem prior to an incident occurrence
- Assist in updating standard operating procedures (SOP), work instructions and process check sheet
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and why-why analysis to identify failure cause and propose countermeasure to prevent recurrence
COMPETENCY
- Ability to plan and organize work and priority
- Intermediate MS Office skills
- Data analysis using quality tools and troubleshooting skills
- Communications - written and verbal, ability to conduct upward and downward relationship management
- Ability to read and interpret P&ID
- Basic knowledge of chemical operation process equipment
