Key Responsibilities
- Translate client requirements into clear technical specifications to support product definition
- Design and develop product concepts, prototypes, and validation tests using SolidWorks and other CAD tools
- Work closely with solution and software teams to ensure seamless integration across mechanical, electrical, and software components
- Participate in design reviews and system testing to ensure overall functionality, firmware integration, and user experience
- Conduct functional, reliability, and compliance testing identify issues and drive resolution during validation and field trials
- Assess manufacturability, cost, and assembly processes, applying DFM/DFA principles to optimise production efficiency
- Collaborate with suppliers and production teams during pilot builds and manufacturing ramp-up to ensure quality and readiness
- Maintain comprehensive documentation including design specifications, BOMs, technical drawings, test reports, and change logs
- Monitor product performance post-launch, analyse field data, and implement continuous improvements
- Keep up to date with emerging technologies, materials, and manufacturing methods, and contribute ideas for product innovation
- Provide on-site engineering support during product deployment, field testing, and troubleshooting
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Product Engineering, or a related field
- 2-5 years of relevant experience in product design, engineering, or development
- Experience working in cross-functional teams, particularly alongside software or IT solution teams
- Proficient in CAD modelling and simulation tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and quality standards
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
