Product Engineer

Spectainer is expanding our engineering team to train up and fill future positions in the company. A number of young, talented and dynamic engineers are needed to join our Product Development team. The ideal candidates are creative, driven and productive individuals who have a background in Mechanical Design or a similar field and is trained in using CAD software and producing technical documentation. This role will be a pathway to several key roles in business, working under the guidance of our resident COLLAPSECON expert, as well as our CEO/Founder. The individuals filling this role will get a chance to join the team behind COLLAPSECON and COS, our flagship products and the first ever fully-automated collapsible container solution.

The ideal candidate must be rigorous, detail-oriented and has a strong ability to take initiative and be proactive. The successful product engineer will be developed into one of the more senior roles in the Product Development or Operations Department.

Role Purpose

The Product Engineer assists in developing concepts and designs for the product range under direct guidance of the Product Lead. They will collaborate with the rest of the team and vendors to resolve mechanical, structural and manufacturing issues, help implement improvements in existing mechanisms in the COLLAPSECON/COS assembly and inspection; execute detailed engineering design, preparing 3D auto-cad modelling and manufacturing documentation, collaborating with Product Development team to review FEA, standard, modification, specification, parts, quality, and certification to ensure that all dynamical and automated parts are meeting Company's commercial and operational objectives.

Role Accountabilities

• Support further development of Spectainer's different prod
• Prepare technical drawing, specification, bill of material and prepared parts
• Support drafting of maintenance manuals and repair tariff, and testing requirements to ensure the COLLAPSECON/COS meets the durability and operating standard and conform with the onsite safety standard under guidance of the Product Lead.
• Assist in producing technical drawings and documentation for patent updates
• Assist in the durability assessments of all OEM parts and components to ensure the components/parts able to meet the useful life of company objectives to reduce maintenance or replacement expenditure.
• Obtain technical data, operating manual, and parts list from suppliers on the mechanical components/parts with COLLAPSECON/COS to support the M&R team in implementing maintenance program on-site.

Your day-to-day duties will typically consist of:

• Developing design concepts, and optimizing systems for mass manufacturing
• Assisting in R&D activities in a time-efficient and cost-effective manner
• Liaising with suppliers for design and construction information and documentation
• Drafting technical documentation including manufacturing and quality assurance drawings assemblies and components in addition to other clerical and document control activities
• Using Creo Parametric to perform drafting and design tasks
• Assisting in the experimental test programs to ensure designs meet final product specifications

Key Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor's Degree in engineering. With a specialisation in Mechanical Engineering/Automation.
• Proficient in 3D CAD and technical documentation
• Highly collaborative and team-oriented, with comfort in ambiguity and rapid change

• Strong conceptual and analytical skills

Compensation and benefits:

• Fixed Annual Salary: $45,000 - $70,000
