We are seeking a Product Development Engineer to support product development with a strong focus on on-site execution at the manufacturing sites. This role will work closely with manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams to drive product development builds, industrialization, and production ramp-up. The Product Development Engineer will act as the technical bridge between development teams and factory operations, ensuring smooth execution from engineering builds to stable mass production.
Job Responsibilities:
ؠOn-Site Product Development & Engineering Builds
Support product development activities with on-site ownership of engineering builds (EVT/DVT/PVT) at China manufacturing sites.
Translate product definitions, drawings, and specifications into executable manufacturing instructions.
Lead on-site troubleshooting during engineering builds and pilot runs to ensure schedule, quality, and yield targets are met.
Drive DFM/DFA feedback from factory to design teams to ensure manufacturability and scalability.
ؠCross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with manufacturing, process engineering, equipment engineering, and quality teams on the shop floor.
Act as the primary technical interface between factory teams and global R&D / product teams.
Coordinate daily build execution, issue tracking, and closure for development and ramp activities.
Support supplier coordination related to parts readiness, BOM accuracy, and material issues.
ؠRamp-Up & Production Support
Support product ramp-up and mass production readiness, including process validation and yield stabilization.
Lead or support root cause analysis and corrective actions for product- and process-related issues during ramp and production.
Manage engineering changes (ECR/ECN) and ensure timely implementation at the factory.
Support cost reduction, yield improvement, and continuous improvement initiatives.issues (8D, PDCA, etc.).
Support customer audits, technical reviews, and issue resolution as required.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Optical, Manufacturing, or related field).
37 years of experience in product or manufacturing engineering, preferably in automotive or consumer electronics industries.
Hands-on experience supporting engineering builds and production at a manufacturing site.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, yield management, and shop-floor execution.
Proven ability to work cross-functionally in a factory environment.
Willingness to travel according to business needs.
