Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Procurement / Sourcing Manager to lead strategic sourcing and procurement activities within the metals recycling and commodity trading sector. This role is responsible for securing a stable and cost-effective supply of ferrous and non-ferrous materials, managing supplier relationships, and driving procurement strategies aligned with market dynamics and business objectives.
The candidate is expected to possess strong commercial acumen, in-depth knowledge of scrap metal markets, and the ability to manage high-value transactions in a fast-moving environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement and sourcing strategies to ensure a consistent and competitive supply of ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metals
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers, including industrial clients, traders, and scrap dealers across local and international markets
- Lead negotiations on pricing, contracts, and supply agreements to optimize cost efficiency and profit margins
- Monitor global and regional commodity market trends, including pricing fluctuations, supply-demand dynamics, and regulatory developments
- Establish long-term supplier relationships and strategic partnerships to secure priority access to materials
- Coordinate with operations and logistics teams to ensure timely collection, delivery, and processing of materials
- Manage procurement planning, including volume forecasting, demand planning, and inventory alignment
- Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, pricing, delivery reliability, and compliance standards
- Identify and mitigate risks related to supply disruptions, price volatility, and market uncertainties
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, trade requirements, and company procurement policies
- Prepare procurement reports, cost analysis, and performance metrics for management review
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in sourcing processes, cost optimization, and operational efficiency
Requirements
- Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in procurement, sourcing, or commodity trading, preferably in metals recycling industry
- Strong knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous scrap materials, including grading, pricing, and sourcing channels
- Proven experience in supplier sourcing, contract negotiation, and cost management
- Familiar with commodity market trends and pricing mechanisms
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills
- Ability to manage high-value transactions and work under market volatility
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and results-driven environment
