Procurement responsibilities
- Supplier Management: Identify, vet, and manage high-performance suppliers across China, Vietnam, Singapore, and the USA.
- Category Expertise: Manage the procurement of raw materials (steel, timber, concrete), prefabricated structures, and complex electronic components/industrial systems.
- Tendering & RFx: Lead the Request for Proposal (RFP) and Quote (RFQ) processes, conducting bid analysis to ensure competitive pricing and quality.
- Develop new & alternative sources of suppliers and products of the best value for the company
- Ensure that the procurement and tender procedures are administered in accordance with the procurement procedures and guidelines
- Monitor on delivery and shipping of purchases
- Arranging of insurance and certification requirements for shipping
- Freight. Manage relationships with 3PLs and freight forwarders to optimize shipping routes and costs.
- Customs & Compliance: Navigate Singaporean and international trade regulations. Ensure all cargo has correct Certificates of Origin, shipping certifications, and meets destination-specific import requirements.
- Administer the insurances which include Industrial All Risks, Public Liability, Marine, Terrorism, D&O, P&I insurances
Project & Financial Control
- Schedule Alignment: Synchronize procurement lead times with project construction schedules to prevent costly on-site delays.
- Change Management: Coordinate with engineers and project managers to handle design changes, ensuring the supply chain adjusts without compromising project milestones.
- Total Cost of Ownership (TCO): Perform spend analysis and budget forecasting to mitigate the impact of fluctuating raw material and electronic component prices.
- Maintain supplier database - Create/update/delete of Vendor Profile in system (Xero)
Requirements
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in Procurement or Supply Chain Management, specifically within the Construction or Engineering/Electronics industries.
- Trade Expertise: Proven track record of managing trans-Pacific and intra-Asian logistics (specifically involving China, Vietnam, and the US).
- vAble to use Xero or other procurement software
- Able to use Microsoft Office for Word and Excel and Adobe Acrobat
- Able to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment
- Independent and meticulous
- Experienced in sourcing, procurement, vendor management
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Have excellent negotiating skills with a strong ability to influence people of all levels.
- You have excellent organization and time management
