We are an established wood carpentry and fabrication factory specializing in custom furniture, interior fittings, and large-scale carpentry works. We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Procurement Executive to take charge of our material sourcing and supplier management, ensuring smooth and cost-effective supply for our production needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Source, negotiate, and purchase timber, plywood, laminates, veneers, MDF, carpentry hardware, adhesives, and finishing materials.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local and overseas suppliers, ensuring timely and quality deliveries.
- Evaluate supplier performance (pricing, lead time, quality consistency) and recommend improvements or alternatives.
- Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels to support production schedules without overstocking.
- Review drawings and project requirements with project managers to ensure correct material specifications are procured.
- Track market trends and pricing for wood and related materials to optimize cost control and budgeting.
- Handle import/export documentation, permits, and regulatory compliance where required.
- Collaborate with production and warehouse teams to resolve material shortages or quality issues quickly.
- Maintain proper records of purchase orders, contracts, and supplier databases for audit and reporting purposes.
Requirements:
- At least 2-3 years procurement experience, preferably in carpentry, construction, or manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of wood materials, hardware, and finishing supplies.
- Good negotiation and supplier management skills.
- Proficient in MS Office / Google Workspace knowledge of ERP or inventory management software is an advantage.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Effective communication in English ability to speak Mandarin/Malay is an advantage for liaising with suppliers and workers.
