Job Summary
The role supports the Procurement Manager by managing product sales performance and yield studies for fresh categories, driving supplier relations, sales monitoring, and promotional activities to meet business KPIs.
Responsibilities
- Manage supplier and contracted partner relationships to ensure reliable supply and maintain product quality
- Monitor product sales, margins, mix, range, and promotions to achieve pre-set KPIs
- Oversee standing orders, central purchase orders, and direct supplies to maintain consistent inventory flow
- Collaborate with stakeholders to customize product mix for improved financial returns
- Coordinate onsite offers, thematic promotions, and publicized campaigns on press and social media to meet management KPIs
- Source new supplier leads from origin or principal suppliers to expand product offerings
- Compile detailed reports and deliver presentations to management and stakeholder panels to inform decision-making
- Conduct regular customer visits to maintain relationships and gather market insights for procurement strategies
- Participate in overseas procurement, inspection visits, and trade events to support sourcing objectives
- Perform other assigned tasks to support procurement objectives and team goals
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- At least 2 years of procurement or demand planning experience
- Prior buying or supply experience in supermarket retail trade is advantageous
- Possession of a valid driving license and own transport is preferred
- Self-motivated and target-driven mindset
- Meticulous and analytical approach to work
- Skillful negotiation and effective communication skills applied in supplier and stakeholder interactions
- Strong IT literacy with proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint for data analysis and presentations
