Get to Know the Role
The Associate Director / Director, lead an integrated global supplier Center of Excellence (CoE) that drives supplier technology leadership, supplier performance management, cost competitiveness, capital efficiency, and capacity resilience. The role unifies procurement engineering, supplier quality, category management, equipment supplier management, worldwide CapEx, capacity planning, and value engineering to deliver sustainable improvements in total cost of ownership (TCO), manufacturing readiness, and operational performance. This role is a strategic value-creation engine, ensuring the organization achieves lower cost, higher quality, resilient capacity, and capital efficiency through deep supplier collaboration and operational integration.
Essential Responsibilities
- Procurement Engineering & Value Engineering Leadership: Lead Procurement Engineering strategy across materials, consumables, PM parts, service, subsystems, and equipment. Own cross-functional cost structure improvement initiatives
- Supplier Quality & Capability Excellence: Own supplier quality strategy in partnership with SQM teams, drive supplier process capability improvement and corrective action effectiveness, ensure cost reduction initiatives do not compromise quality or reliability.
- Category Management & Strategic Sourcing: Develop and execute global category strategies aligned with business, cost and technology roadmap.
- Equipment Supplier Management CoE: Lead global equipment supplier strategy across LSI. Define equipment standardization, platform strategy, and supplier consolidation as well as equipment lifecycle and cost (TCO) management.
- Worldwide CapEx Strategy & Governance: Collaboration with IE, Operation and finance in WW CapEx planning, prioritization, and governance. Ensure capital efficiency, spend discipline, and alignment with long-term technology roadmap
- Leadership, Governance & Stakeholder Management: Chair supplier and internal executive reviews. Act as senior interface to strategic suppliers and executive leadership. Build strong collaboration with Operations, R&D, Supply Chain, and Finance.
Skills and Competencies Profile
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing) or degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, or an MBA is strongly preferred
- Professional Certifications such as PMP, Six Sigma, IPSCMI, CPSM, or equivalent are advantageous.
- Minimum 15+ years of experience in semiconductor or advanced manufacturing environments, with progressive leadership responsibility across Commodity/Category Management, Procurement Engineering, Supplier Management, Operations, or Manufacturing Excellence.
- Proven experience leading large-scale business or operational transformation initiatives across procurement, manufacturing, or supply chain functions. Demonstrated success in restructuring organizations, implementing Centers of Excellence, digitizing processes, and delivering measurable cost, quality, and capital efficiency improvements.
- Leadership & Influence: Proven ability to lead and align cross-functional global teams across Procurement, Engineering, Manufacturing, Planning, and Finance. Strong executive presence with the credibility to influence senior leadership, manage strategic suppliers, and lead through complexity and change.
- Strategic & Analytical Capability: Strong business acumen with the ability to translate technical and operational data into clear commercial decisions. Experienced in cost modeling, Value Engineering, TCO analysis, capital evaluation, and data-driven problem solving.
- Operational & Project Management Excellence: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple high-impact, cross-regional initiatives with structured governance and execution discipline. Experienced in building Centers of Excellence and balancing cost, quality, capacity, and capital trade-offs.
- Category & Supplier Management: Strong capability in developing global category strategies, supplier segmentation, and risk management frameworks. Demonstrated ability to improve supplier performance across cost, quality, delivery, and innovation.
- Communication & Executive Presentation: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to simplify complex technical and financial concepts. Confident in presenting executive-level business cases, capital justifications, and performance updates.
