Process Engineer (Chemical & Systems)
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly analytical Process Engineer to lead the design and optimization of chemical and physical processes for major Oil& Gas EPC projects. This role is fundamental to ensuring the safety, efficiency, and operational viability of complex facilities. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of process engineering-from initial simulations and heat/material balances to on-site commissioning and performance troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
- System Design &Documentation: Spearhead the development of core process deliverables, including Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams(P&IDs), and comprehensive process datasheets.
- Advanced Simulations: Execute high-fidelity process simulations and perform rigorous heat and material balance (HMB) calculations and equipment sizing.
- Safety & Risk Mitigation: Actively lead and provide technical input during critical safety workshops, including HAZID, HAZOP, and SIL assessments.
- Cross-DisciplinaryIntegration: Work closely with Piping, Mechanical, and I&C teams to ensure that process designs are seamlessly integrated, operable, and maintainable.
- Procurement Support:Provide expert process input for equipment procurement, including the technicalevaluation of vendor documents and performance guarantees.
- Operational Execution:Deliver site-level support during construction and commissioning phases,resolving complex process issues to ensure a smooth start-up.
- Compliance: Ensure all designs strictly adhere to international codes (API, ASME, ISO) andproject-specific safety mandates.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or a related technical discipline.
- A minimum of 8to 10 years of professional process engineering experience within the Oil &Gas or EPC sectors.
- Advanced proficiency in industry-leading simulation software such as Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, or PRO/II.
- In-depth understanding of international standards (API, ASME, ISO) and best practices in process safety.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate technical complexities clearly to multidisciplinary stakeholders.
