Job Description

Location: Bukit Timah, Singapore
Working Days: Monday- Friday
Working Hours: 8:45 AM to 6:30 PM

Key Responsibilities:

Culinary & Menu Planning

  • Independently plan and prepare daily lunch and dinner menus tailored to the family's preferences, ensuring a balance of nutrition, variety, and taste.

  • Prepare a diverse range of high-quality Chinese, Western, and Japanese dishes.

  • Strictly adhere to dietary requirements, ensuring all meals are 100% wheat-, rye-, barley-, and gluten-free, with zero cross-contamination.

  • Prepare elevated meals for guests and small family gatherings as required.

  • Coordinate with and provide clear instructions to domestic helpers regarding food preparation, storage, and reheating for the chef's off-days.

Procurement & Kitchen Management

  • Manage all grocery shopping and market visits based strictly on the weekly menu and actual household consumption.

  • Source and purchase fresh, premium ingredients while maintaining strict control over grocery spending and minimizing food wastage.

  • Conduct regular inventory checks of the refrigerator, freezer, and pantry prior to purchasing to avoid over-stocking and unnecessary bulk purchases.

  • Implement efficient food storage practices (First-In-First-Out) and regularly monitor ingredient freshness and expiry dates.

  • Maintain the highest standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and organization within the kitchen.

Requirements:

  • Proven track record as a Private Chef, Personal Chef, or Senior Cook, ideally within a private household or high-end hospitality environment.

  • Strong, hands-on culinary expertise in Chinese, Western, and Japanese cuisines.

  • Demonstrated experience in strict gluten-free cooking and managing dietary restrictions.

  • Excellent kitchen management skills, with a disciplined approach to inventory control, portion estimation, and waste reduction.

  • Highly organized, reliable, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

  • Professional, respectful, and highly discreet, recognizing the privacy required when working within a family home.

  • Flexible and adaptable to reasonable changes in family schedules or meal plans.
