Job Description

Responsible for providing advice on applicable regulations and help to ensure the Bank operates in full compliance with regulations. In addition, this role is required to provide regulatory guidance on product offerings, investment suitability, and other regulatory related matters, including managing regulatory change, complaint investigations, and stakeholder collaboration with internal teams and external regulators.

Key responsibilities

  • Provides advices on regulatory requirements (with respect to SFA,FAA, Banking Acts, code of conduct etc)
  • Manages new regulatory pronouncements, including dissemination, tracking and reporting of implementation efforts
  • Performs gap analysis on new regulations (directly relevant to Compliance Department) and implement action points arising from the review
  • Responsible for providing regulatory advice on investment suitability and product due diligence.
  • Responsible for cross border governance and advisory
  • Review new product issuance and product offering materials
  • Reviews due diligence reports for licensing of RMs
  • Complaints investigations
  • Participates in projects
  • Prepares management reports

Role requirements

  • Degree or recognized professional qualifications, ideally in business, accounting or law.
  • Minimum 12 years relevant experience in a wealth management financial institution with strong knowledge of the Singapore regulations frameworks (Banking Act, SFA, FAA).
  • Prior experience in a similar role in a Private Bank is highly preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in reading Mandarin is advantageous.
  • Proactive, self-driven and able to work independently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a good team player.
  • Strong analytical and evaluative skills and attention to details.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
  • Contribute to execution excellence of the Bank's new client onboarding process, ensuring full compliance with regulatory standards including timely document follow-ups and prompt turnaround.
