About the Role
Interesting role based in Singapore to coordinate, plan and execute copper concentrates sales for BHP. The role is pivotal to BHP's copper concentrates sales and will be instrumental in working to enable value maximization through the end-to-end supply chain.
The role is based in Singapore and will report to the Head of Sales.
- Understanding market dynamics, translating this knowledge into value-generating trades for both equity and third-party material.
- Supports development and achievement of the commodity marketing strategy.
- Work with various stakeholders to optimize value from pit to customer for the concentrates book
- Identify/ execute opportunities to improve: the value of the Book (e.g. reviewing sales channels, sales techniques, etc.), the value of our assets, through providing commercial levers to maximize value to our operations & trading opportunities which improve or protect value for the book.
- Adhere to trading rules, regulations, policies and legislation
About You
To be successful in this opportunity you will have the following attributes:
- 5+ years experience of the mining value chain or resources industry and how that can translate into commercial opportunities for either the sales team or assets.
- Strong commercial understanding focused on end-to-end value and drive to achieve results.
- Adaptability and problem-solving skills to navigate ever-changing markets
- Capacity to lead and influence effective communication across channels / stakeholders
- Understanding and application of risk and governance frameworks
- Knowledge of Latin American copper mining industry / Spanish language highly desirable.
- Degree / MBA in business, economics or technical mining discipline.
- Contributes positively to team culture.
