Job Description

Obsidian Partners is a specialist executive search and talent advisory firm focused on senior leadership, strategic appointments and high-impact talent across Asia.

We are looking for a Principal / Managing Consultant to build and lead a new search desk within the business. This is a high-autonomy role for an experienced search professional who wants more than managing vacancies. You will have the opportunity to shape a market, develop client relationships, build a high-value candidate network and ultimately grow a team around your desk.

The Role

You will take ownership of a new practice area from the ground up.

Your focus will be split between business development, executive search delivery and desk building. You will be expected to develop your own market strategy, establish relationships with senior decision-makers and deliver mandates from initial business development through to successful placement.

Key Responsibilities

Build and develop a new sector or specialist desk.
Win new clients and develop long-term senior-level relationships.
Lead end-to-end executive search assignments.
Develop strong candidate networks and market intelligence.
Manage the full recruitment lifecycle from business development through to placement.
Build the desk's revenue, reputation and client base.
As the desk grows, hire and mentor consultants to build a team.

Requirements

Proven experience in recruitment, executive search or talent advisory.
Strong track record in business development and client acquisition.
Ability to independently manage senior client relationships.
Strong commercial and entrepreneurial mindset.
Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
A strong network within a defined industry or functional market is highly advantageous.
