Principal Cloud Architect

We are seeking an experienced Principal Cloud Architect to lead the design, strategy, and governance of enterprise cloud platforms. The role involves defining cloud architecture standards, guiding engineering teams, and ensuring scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud solutions aligned with business goals. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in cloud technologies, enterprise architecture, and large-scale digital transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Strategy & Architecture

Define and drive the enterprise cloud strategy and roadmap.

Design scalable, secure, and highly available cloud architectures.

Establish architecture standards, frameworks, and best practices.

Lead cloud adoption initiatives and modernization programs.

Technical Leadership

Provide technical leadership to architects, engineers, and DevOps teams.

Review and approve architecture designs across projects.

Guide teams on cloud-native development and microservices architecture.

Act as a subject matter expert for complex cloud solutions.

Platform & Infrastructure

Architect solutions across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS environments.

Oversee infrastructure design including networking, storage, compute, and security.

Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and performance optimization.

Governance & Security

Implement cloud governance frameworks and compliance standards.

Ensure adherence to security, risk, and regulatory requirements.

Work closely with security teams to design secure cloud environments.

Stakeholder Management

Collaborate with business leaders, IT teams, and vendors.

Translate business requirements into technical architecture solutions.

Provide guidance on cloud investment decisions and cost optimization.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

Evaluate emerging cloud technologies and recommend adoption.

Drive automation, DevOps, and infrastructure-as-code initiatives.

Improve operational efficiency and cloud performance.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field

8-15 years of experience in IT, with 5+ years in cloud architecture

Proven experience delivering enterprise or government cloud projects - GCC

Technical Skills

Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM, CloudFormation)

Containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes)

DevOps & CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps)

Networking (VPC, VPN, firewalls, zero trust architecture)
