Principal Architect Digital & Cloud Transformation, Wholesale Banking

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Principal Enterprise Architect to lead technology transformation initiatives for Banking and Financial Services clients across APAC, with a focus on Wholesale Banking.

You will work closely with senior business and technology stakeholders to design scalable, secure, and modern enterprise solutions across applications, cloud, data, AI, and integration.

The role combines enterprise architecture, technology consulting, presales, and delivery, making it ideal for a senior architect who enjoys working with clients and solving complex technology challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design of enterprise and solution architectures for large-scale transformation programmes.

• Develop architecture roadmaps, target-state designs, solution blueprints, and integration strategies.

• Drive application modernization, cloud migration, legacy transformation, and platform consolidation.

• Design modern architectures using Microservices, APIs, Event-Driven Architecture, and cloud-native technologies.

• Design solutions across AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, hybrid and private cloud environments.

• Develop architectures for data, analytics, AI/ML, and Generative AI.

• Provide technical guidance on Kubernetes, containers, DevSecOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code, and platform engineering.

• Design technology solutions for Wholesale Banking, including Payments, Cash Management, Financial Markets, Trade Finance, Treasury, and Liquidity.

• Work directly with clients on architecture workshops, solution discovery, RFPs/RFIs, proposals, POCs, and technical presentations.

• Provide architecture governance and technical guidance throughout solution delivery.

• Identify technical risks and ensure solutions meet security, regulatory, scalability, resilience, and performance requirements.

• Develop reusable architecture standards, patterns, and reference architectures.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in Software Engineering, Solution Architecture, Enterprise Architecture, Technology Consulting, or related fields.

• 6+ years in senior architecture roles such as Principal Architect, Enterprise Architect, or Solution Architect.

• Proven experience delivering large-scale enterprise transformation programmes.

• Strong Wholesale Banking experience, ideally across Payments, Cash Management, Financial Markets, Trade Finance, Treasury, or Liquidity.

• Strong knowledge of enterprise integration, APIs, banking platforms, and transaction-processing systems.

• Hands-on experience with cloud, modern applications, data platforms, and AI technologies.

• Experience with Kubernetes, containers, DevSecOps, CI/CD, and distributed systems.

• Strong understanding of security, scalability, resilience, availability, and performance.

• Experience supporting technical presales, client workshops, RFP/RFI responses, proposals, and POCs.
