Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Create an engaging learning environment by planning and delivering lessons that cater to diverse needs, including EAL students, and setting up attractive classroom displays that encourage ongoing reflection and growth.
  • Support student development and well-being by tracking progress and behaviour, providing feedback and goals, maintaining high safety standards with positive reinforcement, and offering pastoral care.
  • Collaborate with staff, parents, and the school community through open communication, attending meetings and events (including some weekends/evenings), and contributing to extracurricular activities and grade-level performances.
  • Enhance learning beyond the classroom by organising outdoor trips and external opportunities, while continuously improving teaching practice through professional development and committee participation.

  • Passionate about working with children by forming appropriate relationships and boundaries, showing empathy for students, parents, and staff, and demonstrating emotional resilience when addressing challenging behaviours.
  • Upholds school values and promotes inclusion by embracing intellectual curiosity, diversity, and cultural sensitivity, while inspiring pupils of all abilities in an international school environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to build effective relationships with all stakeholders, work as part of a team, and contribute generously to the extracurricular life of the school.
  • Well-organised and tech-savvy with strong time-management skills to balance teaching and administrative duties, using technology and multimedia tools to enhance learning experiences.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Two years of teaching experience ideally within an international school environment preferred with Cambridge International Curriculum/inquiry-based andEnglish as an Additional Language (EAL), incorporating strategies to support language acquisition and proficiency.
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, along with a Professional Teaching Qualification (e.g., PGDE, PGCE, PGCEi, NIE Diploma), or a valid Teacher License/QTS.
  • Candidates should also outline any areas of subject specialisation and their willingness to take responsibility for teaching subjects such as Mathematics, English, Science, Humanities, or Creative Arts across year levels.
