Job Description

Key Responsibilities

1. Pricing & Costing

  • Prepare detailed cost calculations for:

    • Container haulage (import/export, repositioning)

    • Cross-border trucking

    • Warehousing (storage, handling, value-added services)

    • Freight services (as required)

  • Ensure all cost components are captured accurately, including:

    • Fuel, labour, tolls, equipment, subcontractor costs

  • Maintain and update pricing templates and rate cards

  • Support preparation of quotations, RFQs, and tenders

  • Track and flag discrepancies between quoted and actual costs (basic margin tracking)

2. Procurement & Vendor Coordination

  • Source and obtain quotations from vendors and subcontractors

  • Prepare comparison sheets (cost, service scope, availability)

  • Support RFQ and competitive bidding processes

  • Maintain updated vendor database and pricing records

  • Follow up with vendors on pricing, availability, and service scope

3. Data Management & Reporting

  • Maintain cost benchmarks for:

    • Transport lanes

    • Warehouse storage and handling rates

    • Subcontractor pricing

  • Compile reports on:

    • Cost comparisons

    • Pricing trends

    • Vendor performance (basic tracking)

  • Ensure accuracy and proper documentation of all pricing and procurement data

4. Operational Coordination

  • Liaise with operations team to:

    • Validate job requirements and scope

    • Confirm cost inputs (e.g. equipment type, handling needs)

  • Ensure pricing reflects operational feasibility and constraints

5. Documentation & Compliance

  • Ensure all quotations, costing sheets, and procurement records are properly documented

  • Support basic vendor compliance checks (e.g. licenses, requirements)

  • Maintain proper filing and audit-ready records

Requirements

  • Diploma / Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field

  • 2-5 years of experience in logistics / 3PL / freight forwarding / trucking environment

  • Basic understanding of logistics operations (transport, warehouse, or freight)

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (formulas, cost calculations, data organization)

  • Good communication skills and ability to coordinate with internal teams and vendors

  • Detail-oriented and able to work with tight timelines

Preferred (Good to Have)

  • Experience in pricing or procurement roles within logistics

  • Familiarity with costing structures (fuel, trip costing, warehouse costing)

  • Experience handling RFQs or tenders

Key Success Metrics

  • Accuracy of costing and pricing data

  • Timeliness of quotation support

  • Completeness of vendor comparisons and sourcing

  • Quality and organization of pricing/procurement records

  • Support effectiveness to commercial and operations teams
