Lead the pre-sales team in developing end-to-end data center solutions, including design, costing, and value engineering.
Define pre-sales strategy, frameworks, and best practices to improve win rates and margin quality.
Act as deputy to the Director in strategic pursuits and executive-level client engagements.
Oversee conceptual and detailed solution design for:
Colocation and hyperscale data centers
Power, cooling, and MEP systems
Modular and prefabricated solutions
DCIM, BMS, EMS, and monitoring platforms
Ensure solutions comply with industry standards (e.g. Uptime Institute, TIA-942, ISO, ASHRAE).
Validate technical risks, assumptions, and design feasibility prior to bid submission.
Lead RFP/RFQ/RFI responses, ensuring technical accuracy, competitiveness, and alignment with commercial objectives.
Partner with Sales, Commercial, and Finance teams on pricing strategy, cost models, and margin optimization.
Review contracts, technical schedules, SLAs, and scopes of work for risk and clarity.
Serve as the senior technical advisor to customers, consultants, and partners.
Present solution architectures and value propositions to C-suite, IT, and facilities stakeholders.
Support negotiations by articulating technical differentiators and lifecycle value.
Mentor and develop pre-sales engineers and solution architects.
Build capability in emerging areas such as:
High-density computing and AI workloads
Energy efficiency and sustainability
Green data centers and carbon reporting
Support recruitment and succession planning for the pre-sales function.
Track market trends, competitor offerings, and new technologies.
Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams on solution roadmaps and go-to-market strategies.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field) Master's degree preferred.
12-15+ years of experience in data center, mission-critical infrastructure, or related industries.
Minimum 5 years in senior pre-sales or solution leadership roles.
Strong understanding of:
Electrical systems (UPS, MV/LV, generators)
Cooling technologies (chilled water, DX, liquid cooling)
Data hall design, redundancy, and scalability
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance technical excellence and profitability.
Proven leadership and stakeholder management skills.
Excellent presentation, communication, and negotiation abilities.
