About the role
In this role, you will be responsible for the administration and maintenance of the company's PostgresSQL databases, with a focus on the credit card domain. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the stability, performance, and security of the company's critical data infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Perform regular database backups, monitoring, and maintenance activities to ensure optimal performance and availability
- Implement and maintain database security measures, including user access controls, encryption, and auditing
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues, working closely with the development and IT teams
- Optimize database queries and indexes to improve performance and efficiency
- Collaborate with the team to design and implement new database solutions to support business requirements
- Document processes and procedures to ensure knowledge transfer and consistency
- Stay up-to-date with the latest PostgresSQL features, best practices, and industry trends
Requirements:
- Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience as a PostgresSQL DBA, preferably in the credit card domain
- Proficient in PostgresSQL database administration, including backup, recovery, performance tuning, and security management
- Strong understanding of database design principles, data modelling, and SQL optimisation techniques
- Experience with database automation, scripting, and monitoring tools
- Familiarity with credit card industry regulations and compliance standards
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
