About the Role

Join us as Portfolio Manager, Private Credit at AIA Investment Management!

The position reports to the Head of Private Credit and assists in managing Private Credit portfolios and investments. The majority of investments are in funds (in which AIA is an investor or limited partner).

Responsibilities

  • Sourcing fund, co- and secondary investments by cultivating strong relationships with best-in-class Private Credit fund managers. Monitor the investment pipeline and market developments.
  • Formulate and implement Private Credit investment strategies, as well as construct and actively manage Private Credit portfolios, with the objective of delivering superior riskadjusted returns relative to internal return benchmarks.
  • Lead endtoend due diligence for new Private Credit fund, co- and secondary investments (including those under separately managed accounts and fund-of-one vehicles), including analysing the credit quality and risk of investments, evaluating the experience and capabilities of fund managers, conducting market research, assessing/designing fund structures, driving commercial negotiations, overseeing legal, tax, and operational reviews, and securing internal approvals.
  • Monitor existing investments by reviewing periodic reports and engaging regularly with fund managers on investment progress, portfolio performance, and market outlook.
  • Operate fund-of-fund portfolios, including reviewing/approving capital calls, distributions, and consent requests, monitoring and projecting exposures, cashflows and returns, and managing the pace of investments and exits.
  • Prepare commentary and periodic reports, and respond to adhoc requests and assignments from internal stakeholders, including Asset Owners and Group Office functions.
  • Enhance investment and compliance processes by refining workflows, adopting new technology solutions, and incorporating industry-leading investment management practices.
  • Provide direction and mentorship to Analysts within the team.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of professional experience in investment-related functions. Experience in Private Credit or Private Equity fund, fund-of-funds and/or direct investments is preferred.
  • University degree in finance, economics, business or related fields. CFA or CAIA charters are preferred.
  • Advanced quantitative and analytical skills. Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint is required. Knowledge of eFront, iLevel, Aladdin, Bloomberg and/or Python is an advantage.
  • Solid oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Ability to work under pressure with high accuracy and promptness.
  • Strongly team orientated, dedicated and open-minded working attitude.
