We are seeking a diligent and motivated Junior Port Captain to join our project shipping team. The successful candidate will assist in overseeing vessel operations at port, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant loading, unloading, and logistics activities for project cargo. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop expertise in maritime operations within a dynamic project environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the senior port captain(s) in coordinating stowage, lifting and lashing plans.
- Monitor and supervise loading and unloading operations of project cargo.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and port requirements.
- Communicate effectively with port authorities, vessel crews, as well as internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate documentation.
- Support in troubleshooting operational issues and proposing solutions.
- Assist with reporting after loading or discharging operations.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Logistics, or related field preferred.
- Basic understanding of maritime operations and port procedures.
- Good organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team and under pressure.
- Attention to detail and safety consciousness.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours and travel as required.
