Podiatrists play a critical role in preserving mobility, independence and quality of life across the lifespan. This role is part of a multidisciplinary care team, working closely with doctors and allied health professionals to deliver integrated, highquality care. The Podiatrist is expected to uphold strong clinical standards, practise evidencebased care, and contribute actively to service delivery, development and professional growth.

What You Will Drive

Clinical Care & Patient Outcomes

  • Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis and management of foot and lowerlimb conditions
  • Treat dermatological, biomechanical, woundrelated and diabetic foot conditions
  • Perform nail surgery, preventive diabetic foot screening, compression bandaging and total contact casting
  • Prescribe, fabricate and fit foot orthotics and total contact insoles
  • Deliver care across acute, outpatient and community settings, including nursing homes

Preventive Care & Education

  • Educate patients and caregivers on foot health, selfmanagement and prevention
  • Provide footwear advice and customised accommodative interventions
  • Conduct group programmes, classes and home visits as required

Professional Practice & Clinical Quality

  • Develop, implement and evaluate individualised podiatry intervention plans
  • Maintain accurate, timely and comprehensive clinical documentation
  • Manage allocated caseload independently and provide service coverage when required
  • Demonstrate professional, ethical and patientcentred practice at all times

Service Delivery & Team Contribution

  • Support daily operations of the podiatry service, including rostering and deployment where required
  • Monitor equipment and inventory and contribute to procurement planning
  • Maintain workload statistics and support service reporting
  • Collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams and with external healthcare partners
  • Adhere to hospital and departmental policies, procedures and charging guidelines

Learning, Teaching & Continuous Improvement

  • Provide clinical education to podiatry students and onthejob training to podiatry assistants
  • Supervise and support junior podiatrists and therapy assistants where applicable
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical projects and service development
  • Contribute to research activities and present at local or international conferences where appropriate

What You Bring

  • Recognised qualification in Podiatry and eligibility for professional registration
  • Relevant clinical experience across podiatry practice, preferably in acute, outpatient and/or community settings
  • Strong clinical reasoning, assessment and decisionmaking skills
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and communicate clearly with patients and caregivers
  • Commitment to professional development, quality improvement and evidencebased practice
  • Professional integrity, accountability and a patientcentred mindset
  • Willingness to support service needs across settings and contribute to teaching, supervision or research activities as required
