PMS Commissioning Engineer

Job Description:

As a PMS Commissioning Engineer for the FPSO project, you will be the hands-on technical specialist on-site, responsible for the testing, precommissioning, and troubleshooting of the Power Management System (PMS) throughout the final integration and commissioning phase.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead on site testing, validation, and troubleshooting of the Power Management System, with a focus on IEC 61850 communication(on at least 2-3 projects), GOOSE messaging, and load shedding logic.

Perform functional testing and simulation of PMS applications, ensuring correct operation of generator synchronization, breaker interlocks, and transfer schemes.

Support the Lead Engineer in system validation and participate in daily coordination with commissioning teams, OEM vendors, and subcontractors.

Maintain accurate daily logs of test results, issues identified, and corrective actions taken.

Ensure all work is performed in compliance with project safety and quality standards.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Minimum of 5-7 years of hands on experience in PMS/SCADA commissioning within the Oil & Gas, FPSO, or Power sectors.
• Must meet at least two of the following three technical criteria:
• Strong understanding of Power Management System principles
• Working knowledge of ABB 800xA or similar automation platforms
• Practical experience in PMS testing and troubleshooting
• Experience with LV/MV systems and industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, Profibus, and IEC 61850.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, control logic diagrams, and I/O lists.
• Proven ability to work autonomously on site, with strong problem solving and communication skills.
