As a Senior PMS Commissioning Engineer, you will take ownership of the Power Management System (PMS) commissioning scope on a major FPSO project. You will serve as the senior technical authority on-site, leading testing, pre-commissioning, and troubleshooting activities during the final integration and commissioning phase. You will work closely with the Lead Engineer, interface with engineering teams in India, and coordinate with yard teams in Singapore to ensure seamless execution of design deliverables.
Lead the onsite PMS commissioning effort, taking ownership of system validation, functional testing, and troubleshooting from pre-commissioning through to handover.
Drive technical execution of IEC 61850 communication, GOOSE messaging, and load shedding logic, ensuring system performance meets project specifications.
Oversee functional testing and simulation of PMS applications, including generator synchronization, breaker interlock verification, and power transfer schemes.
Act as the key technical liaison between the commissioning team, engineering teams (onshore and offshore), OEM vendors, and subcontractors-ensuring alignment and timely issue resolution.
Manage daily commissioning logs, tracking test results, anomalies, and corrective actions, and providing clear reporting to the Lead Engineer and project stakeholders.
Champion safety and quality, ensuring all commissioning activities comply with project HSE requirements and industry standards.
Minimum 7-9 years of hands-on experience in PMS / SCADA commissioning within Oil & Gas, FPSO, or Power sectors.
Must meet at least two of the following:
Deep understanding of Power Management System principles (load shedding, synchronization, power distribution)
Working knowledge of ABB 800xA or equivalent automation platforms
Proven track record in PMS testing and troubleshooting
Strong technical foundation in LV/MV systems and industrial communication protocols (IEC 61850, Modbus, Profibus).
Ability to interpret and work from electrical schematics, control logic diagrams, and I/O lists-translating engineering design into site execution.
Proven ability to work independently in a site environment, with strong problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
Experience coordinating with remote engineering teams and managing interface between design and execution is highly valued.
