The Planning Engineer / Planner is responsible, but not limited to, the following under the guidance of Planning Manager:
. Prepares computer generated schedule programming (such as Primavera P6, MS Project or others) to monitor the progress and substantiate time and cost entitlements.
. Prepares pre-tender, tender and contract programmes, including high level summary programmes for presentation purposes.
. Reviews tender and contract conditions so as to highlight onerous provisions, conflicts and discrepancies and to propose recommendations to mitigate risks.
. Monitors the progress of the construction programme and determines the delay events and their impacts.
. Assist with the preparation of Extension of Time (EOT) claims, including presentations to clients.
. Prepares progress reports and progress audits, including S-Curves, progress trackers and programming health checks.
. Prepares detailed commissioning programmes.
. Prepares recovery programmes and presentations summarising key recovery strategies.
. Prepares baseline schedule which includes resource loading and cost loading.
. Keeps updated on the construction industry practices and standards, and recommends ways to improve the planning and scheduling systems.
. Provides advice on post-contract claims, reviews, disputes and litigation on programming.
. Prepares and maintains oversight of the construction planning.
. Assist with preparation and delivery of programming / scheduling internal training sessions.
(C) Minimum Qualifications/ Job Experience:
. A Bachelor's Degree in any Engineering or Construction Management discipline.
. At least 6 to 8 years of experience in planning and scheduling for the construction industry.
. Hands-on experience with Primavera and/or MS Project software is a requirement.
. Prior experience with 4D Modelling Software, such as Synchro 4D, would be preferable.
(D) Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:
. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
. Good knowledge of construction and general application of principles, theories and industry practices and standards.
. Proficient with planning and scheduling techniques.
. Ability to influence various stakeholders and build long-term relationships.
. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
. Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
. Strong time management skills with exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks/ projects at one time.
. Ability to analyse and synthesize complex issues quickly.
