PKI Specialist (Future Key Manager)

Overview

A global digital trust and cybersecurity organization is seeking an Assistant Key Manager to join its PKI and key management function. This is a structured succession role designed to develop into a future management position through direct mentorship, hands-on exposure, and a defined 3-Year career progression plan to Manager.

The successful candidate will gradually take ownership of PKI operations, certificate lifecycle management, governance processes, and cryptographic key management activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day operation of PKI and Certificate Authority (CA) environments.

• Manage certificate lifecycle activities, including issuance, renewal, revocation, and inventory management.

• Participate in key management processes, key ceremonies, and secure operational procedures.

• Support HSM-related activities and cryptographic controls.

• Maintain policies, procedures, documentation, and compliance records.

• Assist with audits, governance reviews, and regulatory requirements.

• Drive process improvements and operational excellence initiatives.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and technical teams.

• Act as a backup to the Key Manager and progressively take on greater ownership of the function.

Ideal Background

• 4 to 5 years of experience in technology, infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, systems administration, or related fields.

• Foundational knowledge of PKI, digital certificates, cryptography, or certificate lifecycle management.

• Experience in structured and process-driven environments.

• Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.

• Stable career history and long-term interest in developing deep expertise within PKI and digital trust.

• Degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline.

Nice to Have

• Hands-on PKI operations experience.

• HSM exposure.

• Certificate Authority (CA) environments.

• Cryptography or digital trust technologies.

• Security governance, compliance, audit, or regulatory experience.

• CISSP certification or intention to pursue CISSP (sponsored)
