Job Summary
Client company is seeking an experienced
Piping Supervisor to oversee piping construction and fabrication activities for offshore oil & gas projects in Singapore. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in piping supervision for FPSO modules or offshore platforms, with extensive hands-on experience in fabrication yards and shipyards. The candidate must hold valid welding inspection certification (CSWIP 3.1, IIW-S-IIS, AWS QC1, or CWI).
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate piping fabrication, installation, and testing works in accordance with project specifications, codes, and standards.
- Ensure all piping activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company procedures.
- Monitor daily construction progress, manpower, materials, and equipment usage.
- Review and interpret isometric drawings, piping layouts, P&IDs, and material take-offs.
- Conduct and verify fit-up, alignment, welding, pressure testing, flushing, and hydrotest activities.
- Coordinate with QA/QC, NDT, and HSE departments to ensure compliance with inspection and safety requirements.
- Interface with subcontractors, construction teams, and client representatives for work execution and progress updates.
- Ensure proper documentation, including welding reports, material traceability, and punch lists.
- Support the Mechanical Completion (MC) and Pre-Commissioning phases as required.
Qualifications & Certifications- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant field.
- Valid and current certification in one of the following:
- CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector
- IIW-S-IIS (International Institute of Welding International Welding Inspector Standard level)
- AWS QC1 or CWI (Certified Welding Inspector)
Experience Requirements
- 1520 years of progressive experience in piping construction supervision within the offshore oil & gas industry.
- Strong experience in FPSO topside module fabrication, integration, and hook-up.
- In-depth knowledge of piping systems, materials (carbon steel, stainless steel, exotic alloys), and welding techniques.
- Familiar with international codes and standards such as ASME B31.3, API, ASTM, and project specifications.
- Experienced in managing subcontractors and interfacing with clients and class surveyors (e.g., DNV, ABS).
